NetCAD: a network analysis tool for coronary artery disease-associated PPI network
نویسندگان
چکیده
SUMMARY The systematic and unbiased charting of protein-protein interaction (PPI) networks relevant to health or diseases has become an important and burgeoning challenge in systems biology. Further, current reports have supported that good correlation exists between the topological properties and biological function of protein nodes in networks. Coronary artery disease (CAD, also called coronary heart disease) is the most common type of heart disease worldwide. Traditional approaches of studying individual gene or protein have shown their weakness in such complex disease. Here, we provide NetCAD, a web-based tool for systematic investigation of CAD-specific proteins in human PPI network. The features of NetCAD includes the following: proposing a novel method combining biological principles and graph theory, quantified topological analysis tools, build-in PPI information database consolidated from major public databases, creating CAD-associated subnetwork and visualizing network graph with good visual effects. NetCAD may provide important biological information for uncovering the molecular mechanisms and potential targets for therapies of CAD, which could not be found merely through molecular biology methods. Designing and evaluation of a decision support system for prediction of coronary artery disease
Introduction: Since human health is the issue of Medical Research, correct prediction of results is of a high importance. This study applies probabilistic neural network (PNN) for predicting coronary artery disease (CAD), because the PNN is stronger than other methods. Methods: In this descriptive-analytic study, The PNN method was implemented on 150 patients admitted to the Mazandaran Heart...
متن کاملDiagnosis of Coronary Artery Disease using Neuro-fuzzy-based Method
Background & Aim: Coronary artery disease is one of the most common diseases in different societies. Coronary angiography is established as one of the best methods for diagnosis of this disease. Angiography is an invasive and costly method. Furthermore, it is associated with risks such as death, heart attack, and stroke. Thus, this study introduces a neuro-fuzzy-based method which can help the ...
متن کاملInvestigating the effects of ibuprofen on the gene expression profile in Hippocampus of mice model of Alzheimer’s disease through bioinformatics analysis
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) identified effective in many diseases. One of which is neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer disease (AD). In this study gross alteration of gene expression in AD mice by ibuprofen treatment is investigated via Protein-protein interaction network (PPI) analysis. Expression profiling of microarray dataset GSE67306 was retrieved from GEO dat...

متن کاملExpression profile analysis based on DNA microarray for patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery
Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery is the most effective treatment for coronary heart disease. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of OPCAB on the basis of the associated molecular mechanisms. GSE12486 expression profiles downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO) were analyzed to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Principal component a...
